Lexington, Ky. - Central Kentucky horsemen Antony Beck and Bill Farish were elected to Keeneland's Board of Directors on Wednesday during the corporation's semi-annual meeting.
Beck is president of his family's 1,500-acre Gainesway Farm that is home to nine stallions, including champion Afleet Alex and Belmont Stakes winner Birdstone and has consigned recent Grade 1 winners Afleet Express and Paddy O'Prado at the Keeneland sales. Beck also serves on the board of directors of Breeders' Cup and on the board of trustees of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association and Blood-Horse Publications. He is a member of The Jockey Club.
Farish is general manager of his family's Lane's End Farm. In addition to leading one of the country's most prominent breeding and racing operations, Farish is actively involved in many Thoroughbred industry initiatives, including Chairman of the Board for the Breeders' Cup Ltd and of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Political Action Committee. He also is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) and Blood-Horse Publications, and serves on TOBA's Sales Integrity Task Force. He also was a founding member of the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) and is a member of The Jockey Club.
