Paul Miller
Lexington, KY – Paul Miller, 92, a founder of the Ford dealership that bears his name died Friday.
“This is a sad day for us as a family and for the many people who had the opportunity to know my grandfather,” said J.P. Miller Jr., Paul Miller Autogroup President and General Manager. “He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and the many people throughout central Kentucky whose lives he touched. He leaves an unparalleled legacy of giving back to the community and of making the future brighter for many.
Miller came to Lexington from Charleston, W.Va. in 1953 as he rose through the ranks of Ford dealerships. His arrival in Lexington was to start what later became Paul Miller Ford, then located at 255 East Main. The dealership moved a decade later to the New Circle and Winchester Road intersection.
Miller began his career in auto sales after serving in World War II, a release from the company states. He became president and general manager of the Lexington dealership, purchasing it two years later and branding it with the now familiar Paul Miller Ford name.
Miller remained a familiar face in the dealership following his retirement. He even took part in the 50th anniversary celebration of Ford’s iconic Mustang earlier this year.
Plans for memorial and funeral services are pending.
