A group of MBA students from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics took second place at the 2015 Southeastern Conference MBA Case Competition, held in Columbia, South Carolina, over the weekend.
Fourteen SEC schools competed in the two-day event, in which teams presented a business case centered on the sustainability of a global mining company to a panel of business executives.
The University of Kentucky’s team included James Davey, Jordan McMurtrey, Lauren Scanlon and Luke Williams. Gatton faculty member Gordon Holbein, senior lecturer in management, served as coach for the Gatton team.
The University of Florida took first place, followed by UK in second, South Carolina in third place and LSU in fourth. In addition, UK MBA student Scanlon was honored with a best Q&A award from the panel.
