An influx of new businesses to the Chevy Chase commercial district near the intersection of Euclid Avenue and High Street, such as McAlister’s Deli and Graeter’s Ice Cream, has brought an increased number of customers to the area, which in turn has presented more cars looking for available parking spaces.
Confusion regarding where to park, particularly for customers visiting businesses in Chevy Chase Plaza and Chevy Chase Place, could result in customers’ vehicles being towed if they aren’t attentive.
Free parking for customers and tenants of Chevy Chase Plaza, which includes businesses such as McAlister’s Deli and WDKY Fox 56, is available in a parking garage accessible off of Euclid Avenue; metered street parking is also an option. Parking spaces in the garage are marked for the individual businesses in the commercial center, with overflow spaces available toward the upper levels of the structure.
Don Gibson with The Gibson Company, which provides property management services for the collection of businesses in Chevy Chase Place – which includes the stores and restaurants from Liquor Barn Express to CF Elegance, as well as Rite Aid, Morris Book Shop and a few other businesses – says free spaces in that parking lot are available only to customers of Chevy Chase Place, and a company representative will begin actively monitoring that lot “real soon.”
