New to the Lexington festival scene in 2014, the inaugural Moontower Music Festival is a jam-packed day of great local and regional musical acts spanning various genres, from country to indie rock. Organized by Lexington event company LexEffect, the festival has announced plans to expand to a three-day, multi-stage event in 2015. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Nest Lexington, a center for abused women and families.
This years’ lineup includes regional favorites Moon Taxi, Sundy Best, Tyler Childers, A Lion Named Roar and more. The all-day event will also feature local “grog & grub,” with local beer from Alltech Brewing and food trucks Gastro Gnomes, Fork in the Road, Bradford BBQ, Rolling Oven, Crank & Boom and more.
To lure early festival goers, the event is offering a free “Keg & Eggs breakfast” between 10-11 a.m., available to the first 200 people in the gate.
Organizers have arranged for $5 round-trip bus transportation; visit www.moontowermusicfestival.com for more information and the full schedule.
