Actor's Guild of Lexington will host the first installment of WHITE FLAG Performance Group's inaugural summer tour June 14 − 16 at AGL's South Elkhorn Theatre.
WHITE FLAG, a Baltimore-based theatre company co-founded in January 2012 by Danville native Rowen Haigh, will perform their original play "Really You Should Use Bullets," a tragi-comedy which takes the audience on a jaunt through the afterlife.
Within the episodic structure of a hero's journey, "Really You Should Use Bullets" presents the story of a clown navigating the underworld in an effort to find where she belongs. Exploring themes of belonging and alienation, "Bullets" is ribald, poignant, and delightfully absurd. Life after death has never been so much fun, according to an AGL press release.
"I, in particular, am thrilled to be bringing our work to Kentucky," says WHITE FLAG co-founder and company member Rowen Haigh. "I grew up in Danville and it's really exciting to come back and share with folks what I'm doing in other parts of the country. It's also an incredible feeling to join in the vibrant arts and culture scene here. I love being a part of that, even as a visitor."
Showtimes for all productions are 8 p.m. South Elkhorn Theatre is located at 4383 Old Harrodsburg Rd. Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 for students and seniors, and can be purchased in advance at www.actors-guild.org or by calling (866) 811-4111.
