Adam Arcuragi Cosmic Charlie’s, 388 Woodland Ave. 10 p.m., 18+. Arcuragi is often credited with being a pioneer of a genre known as “Death Gospel,” which combines elements of outlaw country, folk and gospel. With local support from The Fabled Canelands Dave Cave (Viva Viva).
Grits & Soul Band Al's Bar 601 North Limestone Street, 9 p.m., $5. This Asheville-based duo with Kentucky roots has been described as "roots country, honky tonk stomp, a little Memphis Soul and some throwback rock and roll for good measure." They'll follow up their early evening Red Barn Radio appearance with a gig at Al's.
Municipal Waste and Napalm Death Buster's, 899 Manchester St., $12-15, 18+, 8 p.m.
Grits & Soul Artsplace, 161 N. Mill St, $8, all ages, 7 p.m. Each week, Rad Barn radio showcases bluegrass and old-time musicians in a live radio taping open to the public.
Patrick McNeese Natasha's, 112 Esplanade, $7, 9 p.m. From the venue website: "Lexington based singer-songwriter Patrick McNeese possesses a unique musical energy that combines an edgy, percussive guitar style with an original and introspective approach to lyrical storytelling . This show's lineup is Karen Jones on fiddle, Bev Futrell, on guitar and harmonica, George Neel on mandolin and Ricky Baldwin on bass. Karen and Bev, also members of the Reel World String Band, team up with long-time friends George Neel, an accomplished jazz musician, and Ricky Baldwin, a well-known bass player (currently with Nick Stump's Blues All-stars). She plays with the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra, as well as performing in various venues throughout the area as a solo musician both on fiddle and on guitar. Additionally, she recently won Entertainer of the Year, Instrumentalist of the Year, CD of the year, Most Promising Female Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year at the Tennessee and Georgia Country and Gospel Music Association Awards...Blakeley has a unique musical style that combines bluegrass sounds with those of contemporary independent melodies. Known as "That Little Fiddler", Blakeley amazes audiences with her musical ability and stage appeal."
