The GoodGiving Guide Challenge has surpassed the $250,000 mark with gifts from over 2,700 donors, but there's still a long way to go to reach the goal of $400,000.
One of the best way to help achieve the goal is to participate in weekly or daily challenges of matching grants.
Through the end of this week (Dec. 14), get a cup of coffee, and when you mention your favorite GoodGiving Guide Challenge non-profit, you put that organization in the running to win 6 percent of sales from four local coffee shops: Common Grounds (343 E. High St.), Daily Grind (4772 Hartland Pkwy.), The Hub Coffee Shop and Cafe (Lexington Public Library – downtown branch) and The Hub Coffee Shop and Cafe (236 W. Main St., Danville).
On Dec. 17, take part in the Knight $30,000 Match Challenge. All individual donations, from $10 to $1,000, are eligible for a 50 cent match on every dollar spent. The challenge will run from noon to midnight, or until the matching money runs out.
Good Foods Market and Cafe will donate 25 percent of all sales in its cafe on Dec. 19 to the non-profit with the most unique donors between 8 a.m. Dec. 17 and 11:59 Dec. 23.
From Dec. 24 to Dec. 31, the Salomon & Company Repeat Donor Challenge will give a $1,000 grant to one of the 68 participating non-profits that receives the most 2012 repeat donors making an additional gift of $25 or more from 8 a.m. Dec. 24 to 11:59 p.m. Dec. 31.
