The Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR) reported 1,859 residential sales totaling $306,344,567 around the Bluegrass in the first quarter of 2013.
Residential sales increased 22 percent in the first quarter of 2013 versus the first quarter of 2012, according to a release from LBAR. The median sales price increased five percent from $137,500 to $145,000.
Townhouse/Condo sales increased 60 percent for the same time period from 80 to 128 sales reported closed in the first three months of 2013. The average days on market dropped 22 percent from 129 to 100 days.
The month of March also showed big gains for the Bluegrass.
Reported townhouse/condo sales closings increased 87 percent over March 2012 from 39 to 73. Residential sales closings reported by LBAR members increased 16 percent from 593 to 685. Average days on market fell 25 percent from 132 to 99 days. The median sales price remained stable for the month at $137,500.
There were 5,445 active homes on the market in March, 9 percent less than the 5,969 homes on the market last March.
LBAR represents more than 1,900 Realtors located in Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Jessamine, Montgomery, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford Counties.
