The state Transportation Cabinet began the Brannon Road Project Design and Environmental Studies in late January of this year. The purpose of the project, according to a press release, is to improve the safety of Brannon Road. Items for the study include improving the geometry of the road, widening the pavement and shoulder width and eliminating roadside hazards.
Brannon Road runs about 3 miles and connects US 27 and US 28. The Brannon Crossing shopping center, located at Brannon Road and Nicholasville Road, attracts more vehicular traffic as the commercial area continues to grow.
The public meeting will be held at Southland Christian Church, Building F, 5001 Harrodsburg Rd. in Nicholasville.
Ongoing updates about the project can be found on its Facebook page here.
