Members of Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR) reported 725 residential sales in Novmeber 2013, totaling $120,637,085, according to a release from the organization.
Residential single-family sales increased 11 percent with 686 sales during the month, compared to 620 in November 2012. Buyer activity also increased slightly in November β there were 615 pending sales reporter, a 5 percent increase from a year ago.
Steadily increasing monthly sales have made for very positive year-to-date numbers vs. 2012. During the year-to-date 2013 residential single family sales have increased an impressive 20% from 2012, rising from 7,196 to 8,632 sales closed. The median sales price increased 1% for the year $142,000 to $143,000.
βThe Bluegrass area real estate market remains stable as the year draws to an end. Buyers have over 5,000 properties to choose from β about the same as this time last year. On average, homes are spending 81 days on the market β quite brisk relative to the past several years. Sellers are receiving an average of 96 percent of their original list price, stated LBAR president Al Blevins.
