Crave Lexington, the fourth annual food and music festival presented by Windstream and produced by Smiley Pete Publishing (tadoo's parent company), has announced initial details for a 2-day music line-up that includes acclaimed 7-piece New Orleans-based funk and jazz band Dirty Dozen Brass Band; high energy Austin-based outlaw bluegrass outfit Whiskey Shivers; beloved Knoxville-based Talking Heads tribute band Same As It Ever Was; favorite Lexington bluegrass-fusion group The Wooks; and the first original show from local glam rockers Chico Fellini in five years.
Rounding out the initial line-up are Cincinnati-based Americana folk outfit Young Heirlooms, who will perform as a trio, local James Brown tribute group The Payback and the Cincinnati-based funkmaster Freekbass, who has collaborated with Bootsy Collins, Mike Gordon, Buckethead and others. The festival takes place at Masterson Station Park August 13 and 14, and also features dozens of local and regional food vendors, craft beer and cocktails, a classic car show, games and kids' activities and more. Admission for this year's event is $6 (kids 10 and under free) and advanced ticket bundles will be available online from July 13-August 5.
