Fiveash sues Commerce Lexington for defamation
Former Commerce Lexington executive vice president Shari Fiveash is suing her former employers, alleging defamation of character following her late November dismissal. According to the suit, Fiveash's departure was incorrectly classified as a resignation by Commerce Lexington President Bob Quick, costing her opportunities for further employment in the Lexington market.
"Quick authored an e-mail which contained false and defamatory statements which painted Plaintiff Fiveash in a false light, that is, among others, that Plaintiff Fiveash had chosen to abandon the operation of Defendant Commerce Lexington at a critical time in the operating year," The suit filed in Fayette Circuit Court states. "Quick's utterances falsely indicated that Plaintiff Fiveash had voluntarily stepped down from her position, and had not performed her duties professionally.
