Lexington, KY - Changes at the top at two Lexington medical institutions, one focused on human rehabilitation, the other on ailing equine.
Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital Board of Directors has named Gary Payne as their new President and CEO.
"We are confident that Gary's emphasis on patient outcomes, excellent background in health care management, business acumen and effective leadership abilities will enable Cardinal Hill to continue and advance its mission of providing world-class rehabilitation services to the Commonwealth," said Glenn Norvell, Chair of the Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital Board of Trustees.
Payne has served as CEO at Howard A. Rusk Rehabilitation Center, a joint venture hospital with the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Payne comes to Cardinal Hill from HealthSouth Corporation where he was most recently an interim CEO traveling to several hospitals in the HealthSouth System. Previously he was an executive with BJC HealthCare, a large health system in St. Louis, Missouri. Payne is originally from Rawlings, Wyoming, where he graduated from the University of Wyoming Pharmacy School and is an SKB Fellow from the University of Pennsylvania, Leonard Davis Institute/Wharton School.
Hagyard Equine Medical Institute announced that Dr. Andrew Clark, its CEO for the last six years, has decided to resign his position effective December 31, 2011. Dr Clark plans to pursue consulting opportunities in industry. He will continue his relationship with Hagyard in a consulting role.
