Lexington, KY - With a little more than three weeks of a two month run under its belt, the GoodGiving Guide Challenge 2011 created by 's parent company Smiley Pete Publishing and the Blue Grass Community Foundation exceeded its goal to raise $100,000 for local non-profits.

As of 5:15 Thursday afternoon, the website www.goodgivingguide.net had received 1491 gifts totaling $100,785 and now the team has decided to double the initial goal and raise $200,000 for 58 area non-profits.
In order to achieve the goal, Smiley Pete Publisher Chuck Creacy said the campaign only needs to increase its daily donations by an average of $1,000, a goal that as the end nears, he said should be achievable.
There are incentives for matching and bonuses for the non-profits, while the challenge also provides incentives for those who donate to gain. Prizes have been and will continue to be awarded weekly to those who give.
The Challenge runs through Dec. 31 and is based on a project started by Willamette Week in Portland that has raised millions of dollars for their local non-profit community since it launched.
