Lexington, Ky. - 2,889 residential real estate sales totaling $547,687,013 were reported for the year-to-date in September by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR.) That's an exact match of sales during the first nine months of 2009.
"During September 2010 vs. September 2009, residential sales decreased 35% to 226 sales reported," LBAR noted in a press release. "It is important to remember that this is an apples-to-oranges comparison, as the market was still in the grips of the tax credit craze last September. We will not see a true apples-to-apples comparison until the summer of 2011."
The median sales price increased 4 percent in September 2010, rising from $149,838 to $155,125. Average days on market in Fayette County remained stable, increasing just 3 percent from 66 to 68 days.
