"Playful Innovation" is focus of second annual TEDxLex event
TEDxLex, an event designed to bring together leading technologists, innovators, and musicians to share visions of creativity and ideology, is set for Friday, October 21, 2011 from 8a-3:30p at the Kentucky Theatre in downtown Lexington
This event provides a platform for local creative minds to learn from extraordinary speakers, and spread their ideas on how new media and technology are shaping the future of this city as well as the world.
The theme for this second annual TEDxLex event is "Playful Innovation," the
discovery that not all ideas have to change the world but they can be fun, creative and challenging to just those around us.
15 live speakers are slated plus 2 recorded TED Talks, and a number of networking sessions both during and after the event.

Bluegrass SBDC hosts technology event for small business
Thanks to information technology, today's small business owners can promote their business, find and connect with customers, speedily process information, and conduct commerce - all with just a few clicks. With this in mind, the Bluegrass Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is offering Social, Mobile, Local: Technology Trends, Tools & Strategies for Small Business Success on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington.
Attendees will learn how to use social media to increase sales and brand awareness, tips for designing a compelling website, ways to use technology to increase efficiency, and cost saving techniques.
