Lexington, Ky. - There will be two opportunities this week to bring yourself up to date and be "in the know" about the proposal to create a 46 acre Rupp Arena Arts & Entertainment District in downtown Lexington.
The second in a series of public workshops is scheduled for 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 39 at the Lexington Children's Theater, 418 West Short Street.
And on Thursday afternoon, the Downtown Lexington Corporation (DLC) is hosting a question and answer session with Gary Bates, consultant to the Rupp Arena Arts and Entertainment District Task Force. DLC President Renee Jackson said her organization wanted to provide an opportunity for downtown merchants and property owners to spend time focusing on the issue.
The DLC event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Buster's, 899 Manchester Street. The Q&A session with Bates will be followed by a walking tour, weather permitting.
The Task Force is expected to issue its final report as early as January, 2012.
