The Kentucky Blood Center's Board of Directors has selected William S. Reed as the organization's fifth chief executive officer in its 40-year history. Reed most recently served as vice president of community resources for the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Wise DelCotto PLLC announced that T. Kent Barber has joined its debt restructuring law practice. Prior to joining Wise DelCotto, Barber worked in higher education fundraising, including serving two years as the annual giving director of Morehead State University.
The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce announced that Christy Coe of Lexington has been promoted to director of member services. In her new role, Coe will maintain responsibilities for the Chamber's affinity partners and continue to improve and grow endorsement revenue. Coe has been with the Kentucky Chamber since April 2007.
The Henry Clay Center for Statesmanship has elected H. McGuire "Mac" Riley to serve on the Board of Directors. Riley, the immediate past president of The Kentucky Society of Washington, is managing partner of H.M. Riley Associates, LLC of Falls Church, Virginia. He is also president of BAHR Associates, Inc. of Fairfax, Va. and is president and CEO of United Building Services, with offices in Maryland, Virginia and Kentucky.
Ryan A. Schwartz has joined Jackson Kelly PLLC as an associate in the Lexington office.
Frost Brown Todd has announced the arrival of four attorneys to its Lexington office. Keeana Sajadi Boarman, Christy Lyn Hruska and Ellen McCoy Sharp have joined the firm as associates in the corporate/business department. Sharp also practices in the area of financial restructuring. Kyle M. Melloan has also recently joined Frost Brown Todd, as an associate in the litigation department.
James P. "Ike" Adams Jr. has been named dean of the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, starting in July 2009. Adams currently serves as dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Alabama.

The Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau, which partners with Preston-Osborne to develop advertising and marketing campaigns, brought home three first place and two second place Traverse Awards at the Kentucky Tourism Council Annual Conference, held in Bowling Green October 13-15. First place awards were received for a Chicago television advertisement, the Top 10 Ad Series, and the Chicago Marketing Campaign. Second place awards were received for monthly newsletters and for a promotional video showcasing Lexington's Bluegrass region.
Commerce Lexington's Senior Account Executive Ron Allen has been recognized by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) for the second straight year as a National Top Ten Sales Person in membership recruitment.
