Republic Bank & Trust Company announced the election of Campbell Brown to the Board of Directors. Mr. Brown is the Director of Southern Comfort Americas and Vice President of Brown-Forman Corporation.
Frost Brown Todd LLC announced that Mark David Goss will be officially joining the Lexington office as a member of the firm's Corporate, Energy & Natural Resources and Regulated Business practice groups on December 1, 2008. Mr. Goss practices corporate and administrative law, concentrating on regulatory and business issues affecting electric, natural gas and water utilities.
Daniel W. Varga, M.D. has been named the new Chief Medical Officer for Saint Joseph Health System, the multi-hospital system that includes Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East (Lexington) along with six other hospitals. Most recently, Varga was the Regional Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for SSM Healthcare in Saint Louis, Missouri.
The Kentucky League of Cities announced the following city leaders as its 2008-2009 executive board: Richmond Mayor Connie Lawson as president; Jackson Mayor Mike Miller as first vice president; Bowling Green Mayor Elaine Walker as second vice president; and Williamstown Mayor Glenn Caldwell as immediate past president.
Commerce Lexington Inc., Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce, announced the following personnel changes/additions: Josh Fenner, has joined as director of research; Kelly Cain has been promoted to project manager for the Commerce Lexington Inc. Economic and Workforce Development division.

Gabe Dadi has joined NDS Construction, LLC as Project Engineer. A University of Kentucky graduate and Beard Scholarship, Commonwealth, William C. Parker, Lute and KEES scholarship recipient, Dadi comes to NDS Construction with a BS in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration.
Jayne Cox, a REALTOR from Lexington, was installed as the 2009 Region IV Vice President for the National Association of REALTORS.
Gail Glasser assumed the role as the new President/Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Central Kentucky. Glasser came to Kentucky from Houston, where she held the title of Senior Vice President, Association Advancement at the YMCA of Greater Houston for the past six years.
Ronald L. Brown has been named director of personnel for KET. He formerly served as director of human resources for Somerset Community College and previously held positions with the Kentucky Department of Education, Fayette County Public Schools, Kentucky State University and Sargeant & Greenleaf Inc.
Jimmy Stanton, a longtime media relations professional, is the new executive director of Public Relations and Marketing at the University of Kentucky.

Tyrone Hopson, Jr., formerly of NFL's San Francisco 49er's and Detroit Lions, has been appointed as an agent at the Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Fayette County.

Adam Edelen, a graduate of UK's College of Agriculture, has been named one of the 2008 Ten Outstanding Young Americans by the United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees), one of the oldest and most prestigious recognition programs in the United States. Past Outstanding Young Americans include Presidents John Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Bill Clinton, and Vice Presidents Al Gore, Dan Quayle and Richard Cheney. Howard Hughes, Orson Wells, Elvis Presley, Nelson Rockefeller, Ted Kennedy and Christopher Reed also added the title to their resumes. Edelen has worked as an executive at Lexington's Thomas & King and executive director of the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security, he currently serves as chief of staff for Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear.
The Kentucky Society of CPAs (KyCPA) recently recognized newly certified public accountants at an awards banquet. Also recognized in the program were those seeking eligibility for certification whose performance on the Uniform CPA Examination was exemplary.
