Bank of Lexington announced that Danny Branham has joined the company as senior vice president. Braham has been in the banking industry for over 20 years specializing in residential mortgage lending.
Central Bank announced the promotion of Jordan Owens and Matt Frank to Financial Planning Officers. Owens has over two years of banking experience at Central Bank. He received his bachelor's degree in business/finance at Georgetown College. Frank has been with Central Bank for over three years. He received his bachelor's degree in business/finance from Transylvania University.
Louisville-based BTM Engineering named Eddie Mesta, P.E. to serve as branch manager of the recently opened Central Kentucky office in Lexington. Mesta will be responsible for client development and project management. Prior to joining BTM, Mesta was the Technical Marketing Engineer for Sherman Dixie Concrete Industries. Mesta also serves as Bluegrass Region vice president and is a past president of the Bluegrass Chapter of Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers, and is active in the American Public Works Association.
The following central Kentucky business and civic leaders have joined the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence: Brad Cowgill, a Lexington attorney and former acting president of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education; Tracy Farmer of Midway, owner of Shadowland Farm and a former member of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees; Linda Rumpke, president of JPMorgan Chase Bank in Lexington; Billy Harper of Paducah, president of Harper Industries and a member of the Kentucky Board of Education; Nancy Jarett of Louisville, regional manager of external and legislative affairs for AT&T Kentucky; and Dana Nicholson, education programs manager for UPS in Louisville.
Group CJ announced that Angie Ornstein joined the firm as business manager. Ornstein previously managed Senator Kathy Stein's law office, and more recently assisted on her successful campaign for senate.
Women Leading Kentucky announced that Carla Blanton has been named communications consultant. Blanton previously served as communications director for former Governor Fletcher; lobbyist for McBrayer, McGiness, Leslie & Kirkland; and account executive at Preston-Osborne. She will represent Women Leading Kentucky with the media and ensure that various lines of communication with the Women Leading Kentucky network, including Web site and newsletters, are well-designed, up-to-date and user-friendly.
Windstream announced that Stephen Booker has been named director of consumer sales. Booker will oversee the retail, door-to-door, indirect and multiple dwelling unit sales groups in Lexington.
Julie McDearmon is the new Director of Development and Marketing for the Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency of the Bluegrass, Inc. Her background includes over five years of experience in the nonprofit sector.

The magazine covers financial advisors, reports on industry trends and tracks success throughout the industry. Kessinger, 38, has won recognition two years in a row.
Lexington surgeons Drew Sommerville, MD; Nitin Gupta, MD, MPH; and John Kitchens, MD of Retina Associates of Kentucky won a 2008 Rhett Buckler award for their film "A Novel Approach to the Drainage of a Choroidal Detachment Utilizing a 25-Gauge Instrumentation and Visualization with the BIOM Viewing System" at the American Society of Retinal Surgeons Film Festival in Hawaii.
Lena D. Edwards, MD, of Lexington's Balance Health & Wellness Center, has officially completed both the board certification and fellowship program in anti-aging and functional medicine. This medical sub-specialty focuses on disease prevention and optimization of health in order to reverse physiological aging.
