Lexington, KY - Lexington’s Pedal the Planet bike shop has donated three permanent ‘Fixit Stations’ for installation along the Legacy Trail.
"Pedal The Planet is happy to contribute to the Legacy Trail because facilities like these improve the quality of life in Lexington," said the bike shop's co-owner Wendy Trimble during a midday press conference at the North YMCA. "Having a good quality of life helps us be more competitive recruiting future companies and employees to this area and therefore improves our local economy."
Two stations have been installed, at the North YMCA and Kentucky Horse Park trailheads with a third to be placed at the Coldstream Park trailhead in a few days.
Mayor Jim Gray announced several upcoming Lexington bike events and other officials announced proposed plans for enhancing the trail, including encouragement to join the city’s Adopt-a-Spot and Adopt-a-Trail programs to ensure the trail and the many gardens along its path are maintained and enhanced.
