Lexington KY - Everett McCorvey, Professor of Voice and the Lexington Opera Society Endowed Chair in Opera Studies; Director and Executive Producer of the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre is the latest to answer a few questions about their life for this Weekly Wire Feature.
What’s your favorite sound other than music?
The sound of a running stream out in the wilderness on the way to a fishing trip!
What is your favorite season and why?
Fall! I love the colors produced by the changing of the leaves as Mother Nature shows off her beautiful designs.
Who is a major inspiration to you?
My father. I grew up during the struggles of the Civil Rights movement and the examples that my father showed me for tolerance, love, forgiveness and quiet strength will never be forgotten. I hope that I can pass it on to my children and to my students.
What is your favorite meal?
Paella de Marisco – A Spanish dish of rice and “fruits from the sea!”
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A Band Director.
What historic figures would you most like to chat with?
Martin Luther King, Giuseppe Verdi, Jesus.
