Lexington, Ky – A fundraising event scheduled for Friday, April 26, and hosted by the Friends of the Kentucky Theatre (“Friends”) has been canceled due to an unexpected schedule change for Lexington native and Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon.
On Friday, Shannon notified the Friends of HBO’s decision to film on the original event date of April 26. Shannon said he is an ardent fan of the Kentucky Theatre and will continue to look for opportunities to support it. Friends co-chair Isabel Yates said the cancellation was beyond Shannon's control.
“It's unfortunate but everyone will get an automatic full refund from Showclix," Yates said. The service charge will also be refunded.
Mud,
Shannon’s new movie, will be shown at the theatre on April 26 as planned and a Friends representative will be on hand to sell commemorative seats and t-shirts.
