Lexington, KY - The Kentucky Labor Cabinet will offer free training courses on a variety of health and safety issues for workers and employers in Lexington in August.
The morning and afternoon sessions, which will be held from August 25-28 at the Clarion Hotel on Newtown Pike, will cover topics that include an overview of the Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Program (KYOSH); respiratory protection; chemical hazard classification and labeling; bloodborne pathogen protection; powered industrial truck training requirements; recent changes in requirements for crane operators; injury and illness recordkeeping; and fire protection and prevention methods.
The courses will feature presentations by Kentucky Labor Cabinet staff, with group-based and hands-on learning activities. The complete schedule is available at the Labor Cabinet’s website along with a link for online registration.
Previous training sessions organized by the state's Labor Cabinet have been held this year in Louisville, Somerset and Owensboro. The final scheduled training session of 2014 will be in October at Builders Exchange in Louisville.
