Lexington, KY – The final regional business pitch competition, which use a similar format as the reality TV show Shark Tank, will take place Wednesday afternoon at Commerce Lexington.
Participants will have seven minutes to present their business idea to a group of potential angel investors, individuals who provide capital for startup companies. The Winners will receive $1,000 and the opportunity to present their plans to the entire Kentucky Angel Investors Network (Kentucky Angels) in Frankfort later this year.
Announced in May, there have been seven previous statewide pitch competitions hosted by the Cabinet for Economic Development, the Kentucky Innovation Network and Kentucky Angels. Competitions have already taken place in Louisville, Murray, Elizabethtown, Pikeville, Richmond, Covington and Ashland.
“Events like this give entrepreneurs a great opportunity to hone their presentations, while, at the same time, educate investors and others from the region about what is happening in the local entrepreneurial community,” said Warren Nash, director of the Kentucky Innovation Network Office in Lexington.
Wednesday’s competition is open for spectators though the registration to compete has closed. Those interested in attending can do so by clicking here.
