The Kentucky Press Association has announced it’s annual news and advertising awards, with Smiley Pete Publications winning top honors in several categories.
The Chevy Chaser magazine was awarded a first place general excellence award in advertising and a second place award for general excellence in news under the group’s associate newspapers division.
Business Lexington magazine received third place awards in both news and advertising categories. The news classification covers editorial content while the advertising selections highlight excellence in ad creating.
Both magazines took home dozens of awards in individual categories for writing and design. Smiley Pete graphic designer Drew Purcell made a particularly impressive showing, dominating the advertising categories along with winning several news awards.
KPA represents about 175 newspapers in the commonwealth and will celebrate its 146th anniversary this year.
