Less than six months after announcing plans to add 100 full-time jobs at its Lexington fulfillment centers, retail giant Amazon said Wednesday it has 200 addition positions to fill.
“It’s all due to customer demand,” said Amazon spokeswoman Nina Lindsey.
Lindsey stress the jobs are not seasonal, but full-time. She said wages for the jobs would vary depending on job role and employee experience, among other issues. She said Amazon offers competitive hourly wages and a benefits package, including healthcare, 401(k) and company stock awards.
Lindsey said the new jobs would bring the company’s full-time workforce in Lexington to about 1,700 employees.
“Lexington is very important to us a a company,” she said. “We’ve found great talent in this area.”
Lindsey said the company will host a jobs fair July 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ramada on North Broadway. She said some prospective employees will be offered jobs on-the-spot, and that all candidates should bring identification and proof of education, such as a high school diploma or GED.
