Cassandra Mitchell, a longtime nurse who studied at Midway College and the University of Kentucky, among other institutions, has been appointed vice president of marketing and business development for Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Messer Construction Co. is announcing the promotions of three executive to project manager for Lexington: Ashley Bielefeld is a UK graduate who has worked on a wide variety of projects; Mark Smith joined Messer in 2013 and has worked on projects on the UK campus; Jon Rogers has a degree in construction management and also worked on UK campus projects.
Lexington Clinic is welcoming Dr. Joshua C. Bailey. His arrival marks the re-establishment of pain medicine at the clinic. Bailey has worked previously at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and the University of Louisville Hospital.
Lexington Clinic also announced the addition of three new physicians. Dr. Melissa V. Avery trained in family medicine at the University of Tennessee and and Greenville Hospital System’s Center for Family Medicine in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Matthew Bailey received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Kentucky and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Ochsner Medical Center. Dr. Shuya Wu completed fellowship training in allergy and immunology at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, received her medical degree from Peking University Health Science Center and completed a pediatric residency at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
