Bluegrass Catering announced Friday it is moving to a larger space in the growing Distillery District.
Judy and Jill Bakehorn said in a statement the company will move into 11,000-square-feet of space it purchased at the rear of 903 Manchester Street.
Plans include creating “a spacious new one level state-of-the-art kitchen” and adding 4,000 square feet for events.
The 25-year-old company is family-owned and has been renting its current space on North Limestone for 18 years.
“We have been privileged to serve the Greater Lexington area for over a quarter century,” Jill Bakehorn said. “We are excited to move into a more efficient commercial kitchen and warehouse space and look forward to developing specialty concepts.”
Bluegrass Catering is joining its sister venues, The Grand Reserve and The Barrel House and Barrel House Gardens, which have been in the Distillery District since 2010.
