University of Kentucky students, faculty and staff soon will have a new place to pick up a baguette, cafe au lait and more.
La Madeleine Country French Café has announced it will open its latest site Nov. 16 in new student dining facility known as The 90.
Officials said the choice to bring the new cafe to the university was driven by students.
“We are honored to have been selected as a restaurant of choice by University of Kentucky students,” said John Cahill, president at la Madeleine. “Our cafés offer a unique, welcoming atmosphere and we warmly invite all students, faculty and staff to make our café their own.”
The cafe will be open Monday through Friday for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
La Madeleine is a Dallas-based chain with about 75 cafes across Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma Texas and Virginia.
The company’s partnership with the university is part of a push to get the cafes into non-traditional settings, such as campuses and airports.
