Paul Miller Ford has signed on as presenting sponsor for this year’s South Atlantic League All-Star Game, which will be hosted this year by the Lexington Legends at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on June 21.
The Legends have also announced some of the additional partnerships and planned events scheduled to take place surrounding the game, which matches up top players from the Northern Division against the Southern Division. National recording duo Thompson Square will perform in a free concert in downtown Lexington on June 20, through a partnership with the Downtown Lexington Corporation. Kentucky-based musicians Halfway to Hazard will also perform at Whitaker Bank Ballpark before the game on June 21.
The Legends have planned their own equine twist on the traditional Home Run Derby competition as well, which will take place before the game, with a skills competition and a “race” that will advance horses based on home run hits.
In addition, a game luncheon will be held at Tony’s of Lexington on June 21, followed by a team autograph session at the ballpark.
"This is a tremendous honor and privilege for the Legends to represent our city with the South Atlantic League All-Star Game and events surrounding the game," said Legends President and CEO Andy Shea in a release on the upcoming event. "We are excited to celebrate with our fans, and to show off our city and Whitaker Bank Ballpark."
