West Sixth Brewing, Lexington’s north side powerhouse craft brewery, is adding to their list of canned offerings with Half-Bite IPA, a lower alcohol “session” version of the brewery’s flagship IPA.
At 3.5 percent alcohol by volume, Half-Bite aims to pair well -- and in multiples -- with summer outdoor activities.
“We’re really excited to can our Half-Bite IPA, not only because it is a great beer for the types of summer activities Kentucky is famous for -- like hiking and kayaking -- but also because we love to drink it,” said West Sixth co-founder Ben Self.
The new offering also is getting a new package configuration for the brewer: 12-packs.
“Reflecting on the nature of the beer, it only seemed appropriate the Half-Bite IPA will be canned and sold in 12-pack boxes,” said co-founder Joe Kuosman. “We’re very excited to be the first brewery to do this in Kentucky.”
Self said Half-Bite should begin showing up this week in many stores that carry West Sixth beers.
