Sephora, the marketer of aesthetic products such as cosmetics, fragrances and skincare lines, has opened a location at Fayette Mall. Now consumers in Lexington will be able to visit the store in person instead of ordering online only. The store boasts hard-to-find favorites and its own collection of products. A percentage of opening day sales were donated to the Kentucky Children's Hospital.
Photo Therapy, located at 1060 Chinoe Rd. No. 132, celebrates its one-year anniversary of business in the Chinoe Shopping Center. The company specializes in photo restoration, large format prints, negative scanning, 35mm slides and other imaging needs.
Bluegrass PRIDE and The Southland Association were each awarded $10,000 through the 2008 American Water Environmental Grant Program. Bluegrass PRIDE received a grant for the American Water Ambassador Program, which will encourage participants to complete hands on learning activities and a final community service project. The Southland Association received a grant for the Rain Garden Education Demonstration Project for the Southland Drive corridor, which will involve the construction of two rain gardens as an educational opportunity to exhibit Low Impact Development sustainability techniques within an existing urbanized impaired watershed.
Kentucky wineries were awarded with six gold medals, seven silver medals and 15 bronze medals at the Indy International Wine Competition in Indianapolis, Ind. Gold medal-winning Kentucky wineries included Wight-Meyer Vineyard and Winery of Shepherdsville (two gold medals), Jean Farris Winery of Lexington (two gold medals), Equus Run Vineyards of Midway, and Chrisman Mill Vineyard of Nicholasville.
