"What a great place for a business luncheon! Rossi's has a private dining room with a capacity of 48, and the management will waive the room rental charge, along with the food and beverage minimum, during luncheon service. This affords the meeting planner a lot of flexibility, and Rossi's will arrange for the necessary audio/video equipment at an additional charge.
On the two visits I made to Rossi's for this review, my guests and I experienced superb professional service and delicious food at reasonable prices. We also enjoyed the ambience of the light, warm, richly decorated dining room, as well as the pleasant acoustics. As we looked around, we identified a few business luncheons of groups of four or six. Not only does former Mayor Amato have a dish named after him at Rossi's, he was "holding court" nearby with four other gentlemen enjoying adult beverages. One could surmise they have had civic roles in Lexington's past.
On the first visit, my guest ordered the daily special — a crab cake sandwich with key lime mustard sauce. This truly was a special dish, and the sauce had a lot to do with making it special. I ordered the whitefish and homemade potato chips from the menu. My lunch was accompanied by an excellent slaw with red and yellow sweet peppers. Unlike much so-called whitefish here in Kentucky, this was the real thing from Lake Superior — and superior it was. Both meals were very reasonably priced at $7.95.
The manager dropped by mid-meal to follow up on how we were doing and to see if we needed anything. That's always a touch I appreciate as it suggests to me that they care.
On my second visit, my guest had only dined at Rossi's for dinner. She ordered the grilled romaine salad with salmon for $9.95. The salad alone is $6.00. She found the salmon mild, and it contrasted well with the grilled romaine. Excellent bread was served with olive oil sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. I decided to try the eggs benedict special as an unusual mid-day luncheon offering. I had four sides to choose from, and since I had tried the homemade chips and slaw, it was a choice between the shoestring fries or fresh fruit. The fruit was fresh and the benedict superb.
The menu is quite varied, with something for everyone. I believe that Rossi's is a fine choice to hold a small business meeting as well as a larger one. Having professional staff, good food and a pleasant atmosphere enhances, rather than distracts, from the meeting at hand.
