Lexington, KY - Hosting a party? Local experts offer tips on how to make the occasion a memorable one.
The way you decide to set up and decorate for any kind of party probably won't make or break the occasion, but with a little thought and effort and attention to detail, as a host you can really make a memorable experience for your guests.
As is the case with many smaller parties, the table is going to be the main attraction for you and your guests. We asked four local experts for their help in illustrating to our readers creative and useful ways to approach a table setting for different occasions -
in this case, a dinner party, a cocktail party, brunch and a patio or lawn party (shown on this page).
A special thanks goes out to everybody who helped: Cassie Bernardi, from Pomegranate Inc.; Mary Ginocchio, from Mulberry & Lime; Jerry Shrout, from Thoroughbred Antique Gallery; and James Snowden, from Finderskeepers Market.
The Party Outside

We had a great time setting this table, because we got to take advantage of the green gardens and gorgeous pergola behind Pomegranate owner Angela Beck's house on beautiful Gainesway Farm.
This table showcases Pomegranate's new Astrid pattern and our fabulous raffia placemats in olive. The dinnerware is Incanto by Veitri, and can be found at My Favorite Things.
When entertaining outside, we try to keep a few things in mind. Here our tips for a beautiful, casual outdoor dinner party:
