Downtown restaurant, bar and music venue Natasha's Bar & Bistro now features a "Farmers' Market Brunch" on Saturdays and Sundays, using fresh ingredients sourced from local Farmers' Markets each Thursday and Saturday.
Brunch hours are from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. both days, with a menu that includes a Farmers' Market Quiche (featuring rotating ingredients); housemaid granola with yogurt and Woodford County sorghum; buckwheat and flax pancakes; fresh baked zucchini bread; and the popular "LFUCG": a platter that includes squash fritters made with Farmer’s Market squash, grilled grit cakes, Hillside Farm bacon, local farm fresh scrambled eggs from Scott County, and homemade biscuits.
According to restaurant owner Gene Williams, the combination of fresh ingredients and baking all the breads the morning they are served make for a great-tasting meal.
"Everyone's been very enthusiastic about it so far," he said. "Our goal is to make it as pure as we can."
Also on the menu is a specially concocted juice form the new juice bar The Juicery, featuring cold-pressed orange juice, lime, mint and ginger.
"It's kind of a morning cocktail without alcohol," Williams said.
Menu items range from $7-12, and all of the farmers whose products are featured are recognized on the menu each week. Natasha's is located downtown at 112 Esplanade. For more information or to make a reservation, call (859) 621-7569.
