As LexArts announced the 2013 schedule of Gallery Hop, it introduced a welcome new element to the successful downtown series – live music.
For the first time, LAMA (Lexington Area Music Alliance) has partnered with LexArts to provide live music performances at three Gallery Hop locations during each Hop. Live music is sponsored by McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie & Kirkland PLLC for the 2013 Season.
During the first Hop on Feb. 15, attendees can enjoy the following performers:
• Low End Duo (Yoonie Choi, cello / Paul Reich, bass) at New Editions Gallery (807 Euclid Avenue)
• Ben Lacy & Bob Bryant (guitar/bass) at Bread Box Artist Studios (corner of Jefferson Street and West 6th Street)
• Adrea LaRoche (guitar/vocals) performing live aboard the Green Route LexTran Trolley
According to Tom Martin, LAMA president, the addition of live music to the popular Gallery Hop series is just one more sign that Lexington is on a roll. “Live music adds a great dimension to the Gallery Hop experience while calling attention to the city's growing music scene. Special thanks goes to LexTran for accommodating live music on a trolley that will connect the downtown and Chevy Chase galleries. The collaborative spirit between LexArts and LAMA and among all the participants is an exciting sign for our city.”
