The intersection of Fontaine Road and Catalpa Drive will be closed and traffic will be detoured (see map) around it from Aug. 1 through Aug. 6 for sewer repair, according to 5th District Councilmember Bill Farmer, Jr.'s office.
As crews from Streets and Roads were resurfacing the area earlier this summer, a 30-inch pipe, dating to the early 1900s, collapsed and work being done ground to a halt. Plans are now in place to repair this storm water main, "and with those plans will come some inconvenience while traveling through the area," Farmer wrote.
Fontaine Road will be closed to thru traffic just west of Woodspointe Road and east of Sycamore Road. All of Catalpa Drive will be closed to thru traffic.
