A revitalized Kenwick Place and Cantebury Place, a 244-unit apartment complex on Richmond Road, will be revealed at a community-wide event at the property on Oct. 10.
Resource Residential, a national residential and commercial real estate investment company, purchased the property for 6.8 million earlier this year in March and has since invested millions in renovations and upgrades, including installing new siding, converting the unusable swimming pool to saltwater, creating a poolside recreation area, reconstructing the clubhouse, adding a fitness center, updating laundry facilities, revamping the roofs, and installing new landscaping.
In its renovation of Kenwick Place and Canterbury Place, Resource Residential set out to update the physical property, amenities and service in order to better match the higher-quality lifestyles of residents now being attracted to the area, the company wrote in a press release.
"Lexington and its surrounding communities have experienced tremendous growth and positive change over the past several years and this area is truly going places," said Megan Bell, Regional Vice President, Resource Residential. "We see our responsibility in renovating this property as contributing to all this positive change, revitalizing and reenergizing not just the apartment complex, but its surrounding communities."
A ribbon cutting ceremony and an unveiling of the complex’s new name will take place between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. Oct. 10 at 100 Lakeshore Dr. Festivities are planned from 4 - 8 p.m. and are open to the general public, tours and UK Football themed activities, including an appearance by recent UK Hall of Fame inductee Oliver Barnett, are planned.
