A fund created to raise money for a scholarship in memoriam of Jonathan Krueger, the University of Kentucky student who was gunned down last week in an apparent robbery, has raised more than $25,000. Kreuger, 22, was the photo editor for the school's newspaper, the Kentucky Kernel.
Housed on the crowdsourced funding website GoFundMe.com, the scholarship fund was created by Kernel Press, Inc., to "memorialize the outstanding life and contributions of Krueger, a talented photographer remembered by the Kernel staff not just for his photos and work ethic, but for his contagiously upbeat personality."
The Kernel Board plans to award an annual endowed scholarship to a promising Kernel photographer.
Donations can be made directly to the GoFundMe account by clicking here, or tax-deductible gift may be made to "Kernel Press Inc."
