On the heels of last week’s sudden closing of Richmond Road restaurant Coba Cocina, Jonathan Lundy – who most recently served as that restaurant’s executive chef – has announced the launch of “Jonathan’s Events,” a new catering venture in partnership with Lexington sommelier and restaurant partner TJ Cox. Cox served as general manager and beverage director at Lundy's restaurant Jonathan at Gratz Park, and also as the sommelier and beverage director at Coba Cocina.
In addition to providing upscale catering offerings, Jonathan's Events will also host pop-up dinners and other ticketed culinary events, with several limited-seating events already on the calendar. As part of a new dinner series, the culinary team will host two five-course dinner events in the coming weeks. On Wednesday, May 4, a dinner featuring wine from the Calistoga, Ca.-based vineyard Kenefick Ranch Estate, will take place at the Carrick House. The event will feature special guests Caitlin Kenefick Innes and Chris Kenefick, sibling partners in the wine enterprise. A second five-course dinner event, titled “Morels and Pinots” and featuring a five-course dinner highlighting morel mushrooms and Oregon Pinot Noirs, will take place at the Grounds Keepers’ Cottage at Ashland, The Henry Clay Estate on Thursday, May 12. Limited seating is available for each event.
