The local arts development and advocacy organization LexArts has laid out a weekend full of multi-disciplinary art events for the annual Arts Showcase Weekend (March 11-13, 2016). Taking place at multiple venues, the annual community art celebration will highlight some of the area’s best artists and arts organizations with performances by theater groups, a teen poetry slam, gallery exhibits, printmaking classes and other hands-on activities and performances. Venues include ArtsPlace, the Downtown Arts Center, the Farish Theatre and the Lyric Theatre and Cultral Arts Center. Most of the events are free, and all of them are open to the public, though some require reservations or tickets.
