What do Boston elites, a black kid from Arkansas, and a Bohemian on vacation in rural Iowa have in common? They were all making American music in 1893! The public is invited to hear the variety and energy of the music scene in nineteenth century U.S.A., featuring popular, patriotic, and art music including a string quintet written in the middle of nowhere. The event - the first ever from new organization Amadeus Lex - will also feature a display of paintings by Lexington artist Bonnie Klein, inspired by the program.
