Bluegrass BBQ Festival

Lexington’s favorite barbeque festival returns for the first time since 2019, as the Bluegrass BBQ Fest heads to Moondance Amphitheater on May 19-20, 2023. Local BBQ pitmasters, ice cream and dessert vendors are going to take part in this family friendly, 2-day celebration of the area’s exceptional barbeque scene.

Participating pitmasters will be serving up a specially curated array of barbeque entrees ranging from pulled pork, ribs and sausages to more exotic fare. Goodwood Brewing, Piggin’ Out, Porterhouse BBQ, Belle’s Smokin’ BBQ, 4 States BBQ, My Hammy Vice and Hogtown BBQ are among this year’s participating vendors, with a full list available at www.bluegrassbbqfest.com/the-bbq.

While food is at the core of Bluegrass BBQ Fest, the festival also features a range of music for attendees of all ages. The festival will feature two full days of live music covering genres from southern rock and blues to bluegrass, country and soul, with a bevy of other musical “pit stops” in between. Performers on this year's music stage include local artists Dead Air Dennis and Bryan Himes, DeBraun Thomas, Club Dub, Wicked Peace, Bedford and Hole Shot. Bluegrass BBQ Festival will also welcome the ska punk band The Rough Customers, and country music artist Cody Lee Meece. Louisville based Bourbon Legend will bring the motown covers on Saturday night. The headliner on Friday night is the Treyvon King Band. King’s father, Lexington blues legend TeeDee Young, will headline on Saturday night. Visit bluegrassbbqfest.com/the-bands for the full lineup and schedule.
