Friends & Family Tour: Tales from the Oregon Coast, an exhibit of new painting from John Lackey

Luigart Gallery is proud to present Friends & Family Tour: Tales from the Oregon Coast, an exhibit of new paintings by John Lackey. The exhibit will run from August 18 -September 7, and a reception for the artist will take place Friday August 21 from 5-8 p.m. with a performance of a few original songs and poems by Lackey halfway through the evening.

The paintings are from photos taken by John last August when he and his wife, Jenny, visited many of their friends and family up and down the Oregon coast. It was their longest road trip since their wedding 35 years ago. The joy, excitement and freedom is evident in these paintings.

A Lexington native, John is a painter, printmaker and writer. John has written many poems, songs and fiction, much of which will be released in the upcoming year. He has created many book and album covers, as well as logos and posters for the likes of Wilco, Holler Poets Series and North Lime Coffee & Donuts.

Luigart Gallery is located at 110 Luigart Court, just off North Limestone between 7th Street and the railroad tracks.
