Lexington-based jazz singer Jessie Laine Powell is celebrating the release of her sophomore album “Fill the Void” with a special show that will benefit the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center. With her husky, soul-tinged delivery, and her R&B and Gospel roots, Jessie Laine Powell is captivating audiences around the globe while making them fall in love with jazz all over again. With influences that include Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald and Lawrence Welk, Jessie’s melodic blend of gospel inspired jazz vocals and seamlessly marries the contemporary and traditional jazz sounds.
