Karl Blau/ LAKE
Blau is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and DIY icon who helped turn his hometown of Anacortes, Washington, into an indie-music mecca. He has released more than 40 records in 20-odd years, many self-released in handmade packaging and mailed to subscribers, and others on iconic indie Northwest labels K, Knw-Yr-Own, Marriage Records. Blau has also toured and recorded for years solo and with Laura Veirs, the Microphones, Little Wings, D , and Earth with over 1,000 total performances to date.
LAKE formed in 2005 in Olympia, WA.
Karl Blau discovered the band and recorded their first album in early 2006 for his label KLAPS (Keld Lunacy Advanced Plagarism Society).
