The Moonshiner’s Ball takes over a scenic stretch of the Rockcastle River for three days of live music, camping, dancing and late-night revelry beneath the Appalachian sky. Living up to its unofficial motto, “folk by day, funk by night,” this year’s eclectic lineup features bluegrass pioneer Béla Fleck; jam band darlings Pigeons Playing Ping Pong; Portland, Ore.,-based Americana quintet Fruition,; Colombian psych trio BALTHVS; New Orleans funk ensemble The Rumble; and a bevy of local and regional acts, including The Local Honeys, Magnolia Boulevard, Wolf and more.
