Gallery Hop: "Multifarious" - Works by Celery Jones and Sharon S Ross
Artists' Attic (The Square) 401 W Main St, Lexington, Kentucky 40507
Multifarious: An Exhibit of Work by Celery Jones and Sharon S Ross.
This collaboration was born from a deep desire for the freedom that variety offers: freedom from the idea that artists must adhere to one style, freedom to stretch daydreams across an array of surfaces, and freedom for the viewer to question his or her own perception of each piece.
The exhibit is on view through August 2019, with a Gallery Hop reception with the artists on July 19 form 5pm-8pm.
About the Artists:
Celery Jones was raised in Versailles, Ky. She served as art director for the Atlanta-based production company Flynnside Out. There she created and produced content for HGTV, DIY Network, Target, HomeDepot, and residential projects. Then after 6 years in Los Angeles creating artwork for television productions (The Walking Dead, Atlanta, Cartoon Network, and others), she returned to Kentucky in2018 to paint full time. "I have never been able to limit myself to one style, or even five! My inner monologue is always visual. I think in colors, shapes and patterns. Relaying stories through my work requires a variety of visual languages depending on those three factors." - Celery Jones
"Daughter of the Moon" by Sharon R. Ross
Sharon S. Ross earned her BA from EKU and after a career in the non-profit sector now practices her art full time with a studio at Artist Attic, Inc. where she serves as President. For the last five years, Sharon has shown her work extensively in the Lexington area and her work is in local private and public collections. "My abstract works reject reality in favor of creating an expression of an idea or feeling by applying the basic elements of line, shape, value, color, texture and edges." -Sharon Ross
